After arriving in town, I did a google search for affordable hotels and came across this one for $43 online. I get to the hotel and was told it would be $69 including tax. I told the front desk clerk about the online posting and she did adjust the price thankfully. I got a nonsmoking room and went to the 2nd floor... It smelling horrible! It was a mixture of mold & mildew, and smoke. I was confused to why they would have nonsmoking rooms and smoking rooms in an indoor entrance to the rooms next to each other. I got in the room and stayed stuffy and nauseous the whole time I was there! By morning, I had trouble leaving the room b/c I was not feeling very well but knew I had to leave. I was packing and looked in the corner next the couch and there was mold and mildew! I packed up and left and instantly started feeling better once I got outside! You can not pay me to stay here again... I will gladly pay more money at another place next time I am in town!
I found that my stay here was completely unsatisfactory. We arrived to get our room and it was not ready and was told "it may be another hour"......so we changed for our event in our car. Once returning from our event and finally able to get our room, we want to use the safe before going to dinner, the safe was inoperable. At dinner we got a call from the hotel telling us we had ordered pizza, and argued the point with us about our responsibility for the pizza even though we explained we were at dinner! .. apparently this is a party hotel.....there was a party in every other room of the hotel that night, throughout the evening and night, until around 4 in the morning, there was constant noise and shenanigans. People running around knocking on the doors yelling room service, parties in every room surrounding us. We turned on the bathroom fan in an attempt to drown out the noise.....mildly effective.
I booked a room so I could be close to the hospital where my granddaughter was being delivered. While I was standing at the front desk at 3:00PM waiting to be checked in another patron came down to complain about her room smelling like smoke so they moved her and her family another room. A young man was standing in front of me waiting on a smoking room and was given a room number in the 200s. When I was checked in I was given a room in the 200s also which was bit confusing to me to be so close to a smoker so I asked the clerk if she was sure that I was given a non smoking room and she said yes. Well I didn't go directly to my room because I had to get back over to the hospital but when I returned later that evening after 11PM the hallway smelled like marijuana but the room was decent. I wouldn't recommend this hotel unless you plan on partying, but to have children staying here wouldn't be a good idea. Since the hotel is not very large they need to make it either smoking or non smoking, it is not fair to people who don't smoke. $80.00 rate for this hotel is ridiculous, more like $39.95.
James at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. He even browned my sausages for me. Excelent service and location. I love a place where there is shopping and food just minutes away.
In short....if you want to party all night, don't make a reservation, just show up.....save the money.....if you want a good night's sleep, find a place that the management actually is concerned about keeping things under control.
This is a very nice hotel. Very clean and very spacious. Located around lots of eateries & other stores (including Walmart). It comes with breakfast, mini frig, microwave & TV. Two chairs to sit on, when you don't want to lay in bed. And I can't forget to mention, our front desk host JAMES. He was wonderful! Very friendly, very welcoming and very accommodating.
We thought that we should call management to complain, but it was obvious to us that they were aware of it and really did not care, so we chose to try to get some sleep instead of another argument with them about a problem they would not address.......
