Excellent stay. The service is top notch. Friendly staff and awesome food. Walking distance to anything in Washington, NC

Seems like an easy win, except we literally never saw the owner, and our request for an earlier breakfast (normally scheduled at 9am, which seems late) was unheeded. Also, morning coffee wasn't available at 7:45am. I mean, really...there were two other parties of guests there too! The woman who was on hand almost seemed surprised to see guests at all, and had no idea we'd left a message about breakfast. So, we left unfed, and popped into the Coffee Caboose, which was delightful.

We booked our stay at the Pamlico House via their website and we thought the process was simple. When we arrived at the property the door was locked and no one was available. We noticed several envelopes were attached to the mailbox but none had our name on them. When we called the B&B phone number we were initially told they weren't aware of our reservation. We advised that we had a confirmation email for our stay. We were told someone would be right over to open the B&B and check us in. After a few minute wait a kind gentleman arrived and checked us in. This being our first experience staying at a B&B we had different expectations of this checkin process.

Had the checkin process been seamless and smooth and the breakfast portions been larger this rating would have been 5 stars

We had an amazing visit! Thank you for the wonderful hospitality!

This is complicated. The house is beautiful, a 1906 rectory converted into a B&B. We stayed in the Washington Room, which was large, with high ceilings, lovely decor, a small TV with cable, private bath with shower/Jacuzzi, and a queen bed that admittedly was firmer than our tastes but fine. The room also comes with robes that are on the small side. The house is just a few blocks away from the historic downtown Main Street, with restaurants and shopping, and a cute little coffee shop is around the corner.

The property itself was nice, clean and comfortable. Our stay was pleasant and the breakfast was tasty although the portions were a bit skimpy.

My husband and I are still glowing from the rest and wonderful hospitality we found at Pamlico House last weekend. For once I can say the place lived up to the pictures - beautiful, clean, elegant, luxurious, spacious, and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious too, and Virginia was thoughtful to ask if we had any diet restrictions. The Pamlico House is on a quiet part of Main St, but close enough to the river, restaurants and shopping you can walk anywhere you want to go. The only problem is, you might not want to leave your room! I won't mention all the sweet surprises here... you'll enjoy discovering them for yourself. We'll be back...

I'd still say we got our money's worth, because the location and charm really beat out a highway hotel, and breakfast was just going to be french toast and banana, or so we were told when I asked, but I would hesitate to return.
